Privacy Policy
1. What this app is
Rate my Voice is a social app for recording short voice clips and rating, liking and commenting on other people's clips. Using it means other users can hear what you record and read what you write.
2. What we collect
Your account
- A nickname, which is public and shown next to everything you post.
- A password, stored only as a salted hash by our authentication provider — we never see it.
- An email address, only if you choose to give one. It is optional, private to you, and used for account recovery.
What you create
- Voice recordings you post, plus their title, duration and loudness reading.
- Comments you write on clips.
- Ratings and likes you give.
Anything you post — recordings, comments, ratings, likes and your nickname — is visible to other signed-in users. Please don't record anything you wouldn't want other users to hear.
Collected automatically
- Usage events (screens opened, buttons tapped) to understand how the app is used.
- Crash and performance diagnostics when something goes wrong.
- A device push token, if you allow notifications.
We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, files, calendar, health data, SMS or call logs, and we do not show ads.

Legal bases (UK GDPR): performing our contract with you (running the app), your consent (notifications, optional email), and our legitimate interests (security, diagnostics, improving the product).
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell your data and we do not share it for advertising. We use these processors:

We may also disclose data where the law requires it.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your account and content until you delete them. You can delete your account from inside the app at any time — this permanently removes your profile, recordings, comments, ratings, likes and stored audio. Deletion cannot be undone. Backups and analytics aggregates may persist for a limited period afterwards. If you no longer have the app installed, see Delete your account.
6. Your rights
You can request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to processing, and withdraw consent at any time. Contact support@ratemyvoice.site. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
7. Children
Rate my Voice is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Recordings are stored in a private bucket and served only through short-lived signed links. Access is restricted by row-level security, so you can only modify your own content. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures.
9. Changes
We'll update this page and change the date above when this policy changes; significant changes will be highlighted in the app.
